Pro Football Focus showed some love to Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Sidney Jones recently. Both he and Brandon Graham got mentioned for the work they put in during Week 2.

The decision the Philadelphia Eagles made to draft Sidney Jones in 2017 despite knowing they’d have to wait on him to get healthy may work out after all. It’s been nothing but good news so far in 2018 as Jones has fit into the role of slot corner quite nicely.

Love them or hate them, there aren’t many stat engines that put out the amount of content that Pro Football Focus does.

There definitely isn’t another one that puts out the type of stats that PFF does. Recently, in a very fascinating write up, two Eagles, the aforementioned Jones and defensive end Brandon Graham got a nice mention.

Jones is, apparently, proving he belongs in the NFL, and everyone, PFF included, is taking notes. Take a quick look at this excerpt:

"Surprisingly, Week 2 did not have a single interception on defense from the slot cornerback position. In coverage from the slot, Jones’ 60.4 passer rating when targeted led the NFL’s qualified cornerbacks with at least 10 snaps from the position."

He’s showing he’s just as good as many of the slot corners in the league already. You do realize that he’s only going to get better from here, right?

Let’s throw in a little something on ‘BG’.

Graham got a nice nod as well. Recently, he made a few headlines because he’s appeared to have called out Indianapolis Colts right tackle Joe Haeg.

If he has the type of game in Week 3 that he had in Week 2, he may be able to create some opportunities for both himself and his teammates.

PFF also praised him for the job he did against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Take a second and give this one a gander:

"On just 16 snaps against the run on Sunday against the Bucs, Graham recorded a whopping four run stops. His 25.0 percent run-stop percentage ranked him first among edge defenders with at least 15 snaps in run defense."

He’s probably going to get more than 16 snaps in Week 3. That’s probably a very good guess.

Just in case you’re taking notes, that’s some pretty high praise for both one of the Eagles’ vets and one of their young guns. That should make Eagles fans smile.
