With many of the Philadelphia Eagles’ top offensive weapons missing, Carson Wentz looks to Dallas Goedert to build some chemistry in Week 3. Could this be the beginning of something huge?

There was no Alshon Jeffery, Darren Sproles, or Jay Ajayi at Carson Wentz‘s disposal when the Philadelphia Eagles‘ quarterback made his return to in-game action on September 23rd, but it didn’t matter much. Philly’s signal caller made the most of a new connection, one that had rookie tight end Dallas Goedert on the other end of Wentz’s first touchdown pass of 2018.

Do not adjust your television sets. Each of the first three Carson Wentz-led offensive drives of the last three seasons (2016, 2017 and 2018) have all wound up in the end zone.

Let’s dig a little deeper.

So, let’s get this straight. A quarterback from North Dakota and a tight end from South Dakota can both find their way to the ‘City of Brotherly Love’ and form one of the more formidable quarterback-to-receiver combos in the might NFL?

That might be exactly what may be happening in Philly.

There isn’t anyone who pulls for this team that isn’t excited. Take a look at this tweet from Philly’s official Twitter account:

In addition to Goedert hauling in Wentz’s first touchdown pass of 2018, Philly’s rookie tight end also pulled in six other receptions. In all, he racked up 73 yards for an average of 10.4 yards per reception.

With Zach Ertz already in the fold and with guys like Nelson Agholor and Jordan Matthews already having the trust of QB1, the Eagles are going to be hard to deal with when Alshon Jeffery makes his return.

Once Jay Ajayi and Darren Sproles are back, entz’s weapons will be aplenty. Who will defensive coordinators look to key in on when the have ‘The Birds’ on the schedule?

There’s a ton of reasons to get excited about this Eagles offense.
