The Philadelphia Eagles vault back into the top five of the NFL’s power ranking right about the same time that Carson Wentz’s star power is felt on television.
Well, if we didn’t learn anything else from Week 3 in the NFL, we learned that star signal callers get fans in front of their television sets. Just take the Philadelphia Eagles franchise quarterback Carson Wentz for instance.
You’ll never have a hard time getting ‘Birds’ fans to watch an Eagles game, but with the news that Philly’s franchise quarterback would be making his first appearance in the lineup since December of 2017, Philly’s fans and NFL fans in general came out in droves.
Just check out this tweet from ESPN beat writer and 97.5 The Fanatic mainstay Tim McManus:
Carson Wentz is good for business. Eagles-Colts pulled a 31 in preliminary TV ratings in Philly market with a 54 share. 1 p.m. games typically have ratings in the 20s.

So you wonder why defensive ends and linebackers are barely allowed to make a tackle on opposing quarterbacks huh? Trust us. We know how you feel.
If the quarterback is hit too high, that’s a penalty. If the quarterback is hit too low, that’s a penalty. If you land on top of the quarterback, that’s a penalty, but we understand the end game. NFL quarterback may be the most recognizable position in sports, and in a star-driven business, you want your stars on the field.
What McManus has shown us is evidence of that.
Another NFL power ranking is out.
Remember about a week ago when we told you that wins and losses are, sometimes, overblown? Well, check this out. Following a Week 1 win over the Atlanta Falcons, the Eagles topped the NFL’s power rankings. After a Week 2 loss, they were struggling to stay in the top ten. Now, following a gritty Week 3 win, Philly’s back in the national consciousness.
Take a look:
The only team not on the move after Week 3?

It seems everyone’s worried about those Los Angeles Rams. We, at ITI, ran a poll asking Eagles fans if they were worried about the guys from L.A. After about an hour, we had a pretty surprising response.

Are you worried about the Rams?
Expect some panicking fans and a few overreactions as we continue to move through the 2018 regular season.
