The Philadelphia Eagles should get a couple of their key cogs back on Sunday. Darren Sproles is still out, but Alshon Jeffery and Jay Ajayi should play.

We can’t seem to go a day without bringing up the Philadelphia Eagles injury report. Today will be no different. Heading into their Week 4 matchup versus the Tennessee Titans, Darren Sproles is still out, but Alshon Jeffery and Jay Ajayi are both expected to play.

This comes just one week after Carson Wentz‘s return to the lineup. Philly’s franchise quarterback will get some help in the backfield and on the outside.

Philly released a preliminary injury report on Thursday:

Here’s the skinny as of Friday.

Apparently, there’s been a ‘bug’ floating around the Novacare Complex, thus Jeffery’s ‘illness’. Who knows how Ajayi can play with what’s been called a fracture in his back, but hey. No one will ever make the mistake of accusing these guys of being soft.

During a Friday morning presser, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson confirmed that Darren Sproles was still dealing with the hamstring issues, and he’s out for Sunday’s contest. Corey Clement should be fine as should Jordan Matthews, but Clement and Jeffery are both listed as questionable, along with Nathan Gerry.

Team doctors have called Jeffery’s illness one of the 24-to-48-hour variety. Seeing as how he played the entire 2017 season with a torn rotator cuff, it’s hard to imagine ’17’ will sit out of this one.

Here’s something else that was interesting. Pederson wasn’t really willing to say that Rodney McLeod‘s injury was of the season-ending variety but did confirm that he had surgery.

Much of that was confirmed by Howrd Eskin of Philly’s Fox29 TV and 94 WIP-FM. Take a look:

It’s been just about as good as you could hope for a team coming off of a Super Bowl victory and losing so many important players at so many important positions. If anyone knows what ‘war of attrition’ means, it’s the Philadelphia Eagles.

‘The Birds’ got one final practice in before traveling to Nashville. Take a look:

We’ll see if Wentz has knocked off any more of the rust or if any of it affects Jeffery for Sunday’s game. Sunday will be here before we know it.
