After the first three weeks of the 2018 NFL regular season, Pro Football Focus named Fletcher Cox as the highest-rated interior defensive lineman in the entire league.

There’s no need to attempt to convince any Philadelphia Eagles fan of the importance of Fletcher Cox. Through three weeks of the NFL season, it appears one of the richest men in Eagles history is on pace for a very special season in 2018.

He’s racked up 12 total tackles, three sacks and every time he steps on the field, he creates nightmares for opposing offenses and their respective offensive coordinators.

Pro Football Focus recently released their grades for the best interior defensive linemen in the league, and you know who made his way to the top of the list.

Take a look:

Here’s some much-needed credit for a guy who rarely asks for any.

There isn’t much of a reason to doubt why PFF also named Philly’s defensive line as the best in football.

Many writers and experts share the thought that Aaron Donald is probably the best defensive tackle in the game today. As true as that may be, no Eagles fan is going to entertain any idea other than the one that they’d rather have ‘Fletch’ on their side.

He’s perfect for Philly’s defensive scheme. He’s as close as you can get to being the perfect defensive tackle in the eyes of Eagles fans. He’s perfect for the city of Philadelphia.

Fletcher Cox may be a first-ballot Hall of Famer already. To the Eagles, he’s the equivalent of what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had in Warren Sapp. He’s what John Randle was to the Minnesota Vikings, and one day, we may even talk about him as being what ‘Mean’ Joe Greene was to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Some may call that a stretch, but to others, it’s a description that’s spot on. Let’s see how things go for the remainder of the 2018 season.
