There’s a chance that Alshon Jeffery can play for the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver, Alshon Jeffery hasn’t seen the playing field since Super Bowl LII back in February. That was the last time that Jeffery had to push through his shoulder pain before going under the knife to repair a torn rotator cuff. Since then, Jeffery has been rehabbing and doing light workouts. Finally, Jeffery was cleared for contact just a few days ago. And while his shoulder is no longer holding him back from playing, he is now dealing with another issue.

Reports came from the Nova Care Complex this past week stating that Jeffery’s shoulder is no longer an issue, despite his absence from practice. Lately, Jeffery has been dealing with an illness that wouldn’t be confirmed by Eagles head coach Doug Pederson.

Word around the NFL is that Jeffery is dealing with a case of the flu. While it doesn’t sound like anything serious, it could still prevent Jeffery from seeing the field on Sunday against the Tennesee Titans if he still isn’t feeling well.

His status remains in question:

The Eagles have managed to go 2-1 without Jeffery on the field. Although a winning record isn’t bad, it’s quite clear that they can use the big man’s services on the outside in the passing game. While the Eagles have looked thin in multiple positions through the first few weeks, it’s evident that the passing game has taken the biggest hit as Jeffery was not out there.

If it weren’t for the flu, Jeffery would be suited up and ready to go today, no question. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Jeffery will be a game-time decision. However, if Jeffery does decide that he can play, we must anticipate a bit of a slow start from him. It’s been a while since Jeffery has played, and the mix of being sick and rusty could really affect the wideout in his first game back. As of right now, he is still in question. But don’t expect a heavy dose of Jeffery on Sunday afternoon.
