Philadelphia Eagles: Per Doug Pederson, Jason Peters will play Sunday
Well, that settles that. During Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson’s Wednesday morning press conference, he gave no reason to believe that starting left tackle Jason Peters won’t play on Sunday.
During Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson‘s Wednesday morning press conference, it didn’t take long for a question to come up about his starting left tackle, future Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Jason Peters.
According to Coach, Peters ‘is fine and will practice today’. Every answer he gave during the twelve-plus minutes he spent with the Philly media all led us to the same conclusion that had been drawn by offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland.
Despite the biceps injury, it appears that ‘The Bodyguard’ won’t miss any additional time.
See? This is why you can’t believe everything you read or hear. To be honest, it’s getting hard to determine if we can believe everything we see, but that’s another story for another time.
Let’s get some of you caught up.
Prior to receiving an actual statement from the team, we had heard everything concerning the Eagles’ starting left tackle. The day after sustaining the bicep injury, we were told that he’d be scheduled for an MRI, which he was.
Then, we we were told he may miss a week or two. Then, Coach Stoutland threw everyone a curve ball when he stated, just this week that he didn’t think Peters would miss any time at all.
Hey, sometimes even the experts get things wrong. In this case, we’re, kind of, glad that they did. Aren’t you?
Here’s a quote from Pederson:
"It’s definitely something there (possibly a tear). He definitely can play, so there’s no concern with injuring him any further or something like that, but (we have) all of the confidence in the world with him and he’ll be ready to go."
That’s good news for an Eagles team that looks like they’re beginning to gel but haven’t had all of their important cogs on the field at the same time all season. This Sunday, the Eagles get the Carolina Panthers at home.
