Malcolm Jenkins throws shade at Blake Bortles
Malcolm Jenkins doesn’t think too highly of Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, Blake Bortles.
This weekend, the Philadelphia Eagles will travel to London to play a game overseas for the first time. They will face the London regulars, Jacksonville Jaguars. Heading into Sunday’s game, both teams aren’t exactly having their dream season. While the Eagles are Super Bowl champions, and the Jaguars are AFC runner-ups, both squads have had their fair share of struggles this season.
Surely, the Eagles are expected to win this weeks game, but they are not to be trusted at the moment. Naturally, they will have to treat this weeks game like the season is on the line. With the way the Jaguars have been playing, a loss would be completely unacceptable by the Eagles.
Just last week, the Jaguars benched their starting quarterback Blake Bortles midway through their game. Although Bortles was sidelined during week seven, their head coach Doug Marrone has decided that he will roll with Bortles as the starter for now. Since that’s the case, Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins had nothing nice to say about the former first pick.
Jenkins throws shade
In defense of former NFL quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, Jenkins practically describes Bortles as a lousy quarterback. This has been a massive debate for the past two years now as Kaepernick struggles to land on an NFL roster for reasons other than his play.
While there are a lot of bad quarterbacks out there, many players feel like Kaepernick could be a great option for some offenses. Especially for the Jaguars, who don’t seem to have an answer at the position right now. Unfortunately, the Jaguars will not be going down that route as they made Bortles the starter once again, and didn’t make any signings to replace Cody Kessler.
Hopefully, the Eagles secondary is ready to roll this weekend with the way Jenkins is talking. After all, they have been quite generous to opposing quarterbacks this year as they have let up the most amount of passing yards in the air this year. It would look very foolish if Bortles happens to have a breakout week against the secondary that was laughing at his game film this week.
