Ronald Darby, CB

I think we’ve had enough with bashing Jalen Mills this season, and it’s time to move on elsewhere. Sidenote: Jalen Mills is still not playing great football, but at this point, what we see is what we get with him. Now, back to discussing Ronald Darby.

It’s so hard to grasp Ronald Darby’s skill level. One week he looks like a legitimate lockdown cornerback, and the next week he struggles more than anybody on the team. The inconsistency is tough to deal with, and Darby isn’t really making a decent case for a long-term contract with the Eagles. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here, though. We’re focused on Darby for this week, and this week alone.

The Jaguars offense is pretty mediocre. In fact, it’s bad. Their quarterback situation is the laughing stock of the league. If Blake Bortles can light up the Eagles secondary like most opposing quarterbacks have this weekend, then the Eagles have got some serious problems. Darby, for once, please don’t bite on any double-moves in critical situations. Don’t shy away from blockers, and simply just play lights out football again. That’s what the Eagles need this weekend.
