Eagles Injury Report: Lane Johnson, Sidney Jones are good to go for Week 11
The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to have two starters back into the lineup on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.
The injury bug has destroyed the Philadelphia Eagles once again in 2018. Only this time, the Eagles are getting hit in areas that are much thinner in depth. Despite the fact that more players continue to get injured week after week, at least the Eagles are getting a few guys to return back to the lineup starting this week.
Since week six, the Eagles have been without their starting nickel cornerback, Sidney Jones. He went down with a hamstring injury against the New York Giants, which kept him out of practice up until last week. Fortunately, Jones is feeling much better and is officially off of Week 11’s injury report, which indicates that he is going to play.
Jones’ will be forced into a significant role on Sunday against the Saints as the Eagles are now without both of their starting cornerbacks for the outside. So instead of playing in the nickel, Jones will move to the outside where he played in college. Hopefully, his nagging hamstring holds up, as the Eagles desperately need all the help they can get in the secondary against Drew Brees.
What about Lane Johnson?
While Jones is off the injury report, Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson remains questionable for Sunday afternoon. Last week, Johnson was a long shot to play, but he had a chance, nonetheless. Although he was ruled out almost two hours before kickoff, it looks like he just might play against the Saints this week.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Johnson is expected to suit up and play for the Eagles on Sunday. Per usual, Johnson will test out his knee on the field during pregame warmups, but barring any major setbacks, Johnson intends on playing.
As far as two other starters go; Timmy Jernigan still hasn’t been activated to the main roster. He has been ruled out for this week but is optimistic about Week 12. And the other defensive tackle, Haloti Ngata is still questionable as of Sunday morning.
