Timmy Jernigan, DT

We haven’t seen Eagles defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan play since Super Bowl LII. As he spent the entire 2018 offseason, and the first half of the year off the roster due to injury, Jernigan will finally make his 2018 Eagles debut this week. And since the Eagles are struggling this much, Jernigan needs to create an instant impact.

Jernigan’s replacement, Haloti Ngata has been pretty much useless at this point. If he’s not injured, then he’s not producing. Jernigan didn’t consistently dominate in the second half of last season, but we know that his potential is there. The Jernigan-Cox combination will be re-established, and hopefully, it all goes well.

Jernigan not only needs to get pressure on the quarterback this week, but he needs to find his knack for stuffing the run quickly once again. With the Eagles facing Saquon Barkley for the second time this season, they know that the Giants were able to maximize his potential against the Eagles defense. With Jernigan back in the picture, the Eagles should be significantly better with stopping the run, which is an area that has been lacking lately.
