Are the Philadelphia Eagles finished with using a rotation of running backs for the rest of the season?

What good is a committee of running backs, if the committee cannot collectively produce? Week after week, Doug Pederson and the offensive coaching staff have Carson Wentz throwing a lot more than they are running and it’s been driving everybody insane. It seems as though the absence of Darren Sproles and the injury that occurred to Jay Ajayi has Pederson lacking trust in his backfield.

However, over the last couple of weeks the undrafted rookie running back Josh Adams has shown some promise. After averaging well over six yards-per-carry in the previous three games, the Eagles have finally realized that he is the most deserving of the majority of the carries moving forward.

It’s not like the Eagles utilized a heavy dose of a run game before, but Adams’ was seeing Corey Clement cutting into his workload here and there over the last two weeks. But as Clement continues to struggle on his limited amount of snaps on the offense, the Eagles are going to use an approach to the run game that we haven’t seen in quite some time.

Josh Adams’ time to shine?

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Josh Adams’ is supposedly going to see an increased role starting this week against the New York Giants. At this point, the Eagles are desperate for a change on offense, as they turned in a one touchdown, seven-point game against the New Orleans Saints just a week ago.

Ironically enough, the one touchdown came from a 28 yard run from Adams’. It’s about time the Eagles roll with the hot hand, instead of making unnecessary rotations. It’s clear that what was working before simply isn’t the answer moving forward. We can’t expect to see Adams gaining 20 carries or so. But if the Eagles are keeping up with the Giants with a balanced offense, then realistically, Adams’ could see around 15 carries if all goes well.
