Add Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham to the latest of defensive players who are injured.

How do we make it stop? The Philadelphia Eagles have had a ridiculous amount of injuries this season. Some lasted a few weeks; others will go on for the entire season. Last week, the Eagles played against the New York Giants with only one of their starters from week one in the secondary. It’s so bad that even backups are out with injuries.

Not to mention, starting middle linebacker Jordan Hicks was out as well. Thankfully, Nigel Bradham did a decent job filling in with a more significant role, but the Eagles may not be so lucky with next week’s game against the Washington Redskins. Now, Bradham is dealing with an injury of his own as he showed up to practice on Wednesday with a cast on his hand.

After having one of his better games this season, the Eagles could potentially lose Bradham for some time. According to NBC Sports Philly’s Derrick Gunn, Bradham has a broken thumb. As the veteran linebacker was sporting a cast at practice on Wednesday, his status for Monday night’s game this week is still up in the air.

What happens if Bradham can’t go?

Without Bradham on Monday night, the Eagles could potentially be without three starting cornerbacks, safety, middle linebacker, defensive end, and now outside linebacker. It’s a tough situation to deal with, but it’s nothing new to the Eagles who have been plagued with injuries all year long. Especially on the defensive side of the ball.

If Bradham doesn’t play on Sunday, the Eagles are going to struggle on defense once again. There’s no other way to put it. While the Eagles have found out that Kamu Grugier-Hill can be quite useful on the defense, along with the special teams, replacing Bradham and Hicks are some big shoes to fill.

dark. Next. Eagles did some research on Reuben Foster this week

Also, the Eagles had linebacker/safety hybrid Nate Gerry come in and play a significant amount of snaps last Sunday, and let’s just say that he wasn’t all that prepared to play a full-time role on defense. Hopefully, Bradham can just wrap up his cast and play, but knowing the Eagles luck as of late, it would be hard to bank on it.
