Philadelphia Eagles talk: Will Josh Adams play versus Washington Redskins?
Come on man. Don’t you dare tell us Josh Adams will be out when the Philadelphia Eagles face the Washington Redskins on Monday.
Okay, so here’s one of those good news and bad news things. The bad news is the Philadelphia Eagles released an injury report on Saturday and rookie running back Josh Adams‘ name can be found on it. The good news is he’s only been listed as questionable.
That means there’s still a good chance that he could be in the lineup when Philly takes the field for a Monday night tilt with the Washington Redskins in the final game of the Week 13 NFL slate.
Here’s the injury report as it stands right now:
Here are some immediate thoughts, first on the backfield.
Whether the plan is to make Adams a workhorse or whether we should pay more attention to Duce Staley and reserve ourselves to the thought that the Eagles will maintain a committee approach has been some of the conversation.
As an Eagles fan, you hope Adams will be available. These guys are in a playoff push, and they’re starting to run out of bodies. It would be nice if Sproles could make a special guest appearance in the lineup as well.
Now, let’s discuss the ‘D’.
We got some relatively good news this week as we learned that the likes of Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas should be ready to go. Douglas was in the lineup a week ago but was basically a non-factor.
Avonte Maddox has shown us a lot in his rookie season. Jalen Mills has endured a lot of criticism but is still one of the best cornerbacks on the Eagles’ roster. It would be nice to have both, but as you can see for yourself, ‘The Birds’ don’t have either one.
Jordan Hicks is in a contract year, but hasn’t shown that he can stay healthy for a full 16-game schedule. With so many key cogs to sign, and with minimal money to spend, it may be time to ask Philly may go in another direction at season’s end.
