By Alex DeMarzo
Hold up. Wait a minute, Y’all thought the Philadelphia Eagles were finished?
While the temperature in Philly is bleak, the Philadelphia Eagles are starting to heat up as the NFL regular season enters its’ four remaining weeks.
After defeating the Washington Redskins by 15 points on Monday night, the Eagles’ improved to a 6-6 record, and they find themselves one game behind the NFC East-leading Dallas Cowboys.
This week’s win marks the first-time all-season that Philadelphia has won back-to-back games. It’s also their first win against a team with a winning record. It was also only their third time scoring more than 25 points during the 2018 campaign.
‘The Birds’ desperately needed this victory to keep their playoff hopes alive. According to Five Thirty Eight’s 2018 NFL predictions, Philadelphia now has a 21 percent chance of winning the NFC East and 28 percent chance of making the playoffs as a wildcard team.
In all reality, Philadelphia controls their own destiny if they want to be playing football come January.
Next week, the showdown for first place in the division takes places as the Eagles head to “Jerry World” to face the Cowboys for the final time.
Will ‘The Birds’ continue to provide sunshine for the City of Philadelphia or will Dallas rain all over the Eagles’ parade?
