Thanks to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, we’ve learned that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles’ tests only reveal some bruising to his rib area.

Ladies and gentlemen, there are no breaks and no tears. The Philadelphia Eagles don’t expect to lose their quarterback Nick Foles for an extended period of time.

The news came courtesy of the NFL Network‘s Mike Garafolo.

Take a look.

If you’re an Eagles fan, this is tremendous news as ‘The Birds’ prepare to defend their Super Bowl title.

It’s funny to call bruised ribs ‘good news’.

As strange as it sounds to call bruised ribs a relief (if you don’t understand, you’ve never had them), that may be the sentiment around the Eagles organization and fan base this morning.

Foles left Philly’s season finale versus the Washington Redskins early in the fourth quarter. Initial reports stated that he probably had bruised ribs anyway, but as expected, everyone wanted to make sure that was the case.

No disrespect is intended to Nate Sudfeld, but if Philly is truly going to make a playoff run, they’ll need to do so with Foles on the field.

The first stop on their title defense is a Sunday afternoon date with the Chicago Bears. Yes those are the same Bears that helped Philly reach the postseason in the first place.

Philly’s one-week love affair with ‘The Monsters of the Midway’ is officially over. Now, they’re simply the team on the other sideline. Now, they’re simply just standing in the way of a successful Eagles title defense.

Next. Eagles QB Nate Sudfeld and his first NFL touchdown. dark

Some rumors state the Bears believed the Eagles were a more favorable match up than a third tilt with their rivals, the Minnesota Vikings. Now, Philly will need to make Chicago rue the day that they ever helped Philly reach the NFL‘s postseason.  We’ll have to wait and see if that’s exactly what happens.
