Chris Long will not have a brother this weekend as Kyle Long makes it clear that they are enemies for the week.

Could Sunday’s game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Bears get any more interesting? There are so many ties between the two teams, which makes it a lot more fun to watch this Sunday. On Chicago’s side, former Eagles tight end Trey Burton is a star on their offense. Not to mention, the Bears head coach Matt Nagy used to be on the Eagles coaching staff along with Doug Pederson before they both left for Kansas City to join Andy Reid.

One of the most interest matchup this Sunday though will be between two brothers. Eagles defensive end Chris Long will be set to take on his brother, who is on the Bears offensive line, Kyle Long. Both veterans are solid at their respective position, and they will have quite a few matchups against each other this weekend.

Typically, the Long brothers are friendly with each other. This week though, they are enemies. This isn’t a friendly regular season matchup like last year. The Bears are favored to win, and it’s do-or-die for both teams. The result of the matchup between Chicago and Philly could very well be dictated in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Therefore, the Long brothers’ performance’s will be critical for their respective teams. And this week, Kyle Long doesn’t want any distractions. This week, he is no longer related to his brother, Chris until zeros are across the clock on Sunday.

Kyle Long speaks on playing his brother this weekend

"“They tell us to tune out the outside, you know, media, stuff like that, but you can’t tune out your family,” Kyle Long told NFL Network’s Stacey Dales on Wednesday. “Unfortunately, I’m playing against my family this week. You’ve got to look at it as just another dude out there. He kind of looks like me, possibly, but on Sunday, we’re not related, so I’ve got to focus on my job.”"

Soldier Field will be packed with the Long family this weekend, as it has become a family event. Chris’s dad, Howie Long will be in attendance watching his sons play as he will be celebrating his birthday. And apparently, their mother will be at the stadium as well. But according to Kyle, she probably won’t be watching the game as she doesn’t want to take sides between her two sons.

Last season, Chris Long and the Eagles won the battle against the Bears at the Linc. This year, the circumstances are a bit different as the Bears will be at home and are much better than last year. However, the Eagles have the playoff experience that a lot of guys in Chicago do not have, so there’s one factor for Chirs and the Birds that could make a huge difference this week.
