Philadelphia Eagles: 3 Wide Receivers show up on the Injury Report
Mike Wallace isn’t the only Philadelphia Eagles wideout to show up on the team’s injury report this week.
What did the Philadelphia Eagles do to deserve so many injuries this season? Was last year not enough for the football gods? It’s pretty ridiculous. I could sit here and put together an entire list of injured starters alone, and it would be shocking to know that the Eagles made it this far without some key names. And as the team seems to be getting healthier, the injury report from the Eagles on Thursday just makes us feel not so great about Sunday’s matchup with the first look.
Recently, it looks like not just one, but three wide receivers have been dealing with some injuries. While Mike Wallace has been out for pretty much all but one game this season, it looks like the Eagles have to be careful with Alshon Jeffery and Golden Tate as well.
After Thursday afternoons practice, the final injury report had Jeffery and Tate listed as injured along with Wallace. The bad news is that they injured, obviously. The good news is that they were only limited participants. So, they didn’t practice in every single drill, but they practiced, so that’s a positive. Here’s the entire report, courtesy of the Eagles official Twitter account.
Thursday’s Injury Report:
The only two players to miss practice on Thursday was defensive end Michael Bennett and quarterback Carson Wentz. Don’t worry, Bennett will play this week as he hasn’t practiced in quite some time now. Wentz, on the other hand, probably won’t practice for the rest of the year. As far as the limited participants go, Jeffery and Tate should be fine.
Last week, Jeffery was battling his ribs injury but still played against the Chicago Bears. As for Tate, he injured his knee in the first half against the Bears but continued to battle through it. Actually, he ended up making a pretty big play last Sunday, remember? Both of these guys are veterans, and they could use a half day every once in a while. Expect them both to be alright.
The only two critical players who remain in question for Sunday are Sidney Jones and Mike Wallace. Jones’ hamstring issues have been giving him a hard time all year long. Even if he’s cleared to go for Sunday, he’s most likely nothing more than a depth player in the secondary. Wallace’s situation is still questionable as well, but it seems less likely that he suits up this week.
