We discuss a few free agency rumors and PFF’s recognition of Cre’Von LeBlanc in this edition of Philadelphia Eagles roundup.

Can you use words like ‘spoiled’ when discussing the Philadelphia Eagles fan base? Are we spoiled already? We haven’t even arrived at kickoff for Super Bowl 53 yet, and still, fans are torn. More on that in a second. First, we begin with Cre’Von LeBlanc.

Philly’s new addition at cornerback seems to have finally found a home in the NFL.

Sure, the Eagles dealt with injuries all season long, particularly in the secondary, but after seeing what LeBlanc was capable of when given his opportunity, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where Philly doesn’t welcome back the man Pro Football Focus gave the highest cornerback ranking to following the most recent NFL Playoffs.

Take a look.

From that, we move on to the ‘new norm’ and ask a question. Did last season’s postseason success spoil us a tad. Finally, Eagles fans are dealing with a new concept, expectations.

Yes, we’re back on that again. Though no one will look back on the way Philly battled at the end of the season, there’s still a little hurt there. What if they had gotten off to a faster start? What if they hadn’t blown those fourth-quarter leads?

The ‘new norm’ meant Philly was supposed to stamp their ticket to Atlanta. Instead, we’re discussing free agency and the 2019 regular season. Now, it’s time to reload for the future.

With that being said, we move along to a few rumors about what ‘The Birds’ might do. Is Kareem Hunt in the discussion? Jimmy Kempsi of Philly Voice explained why he and a couple other guys make sense. Eliot Schorr-Parks explained why he thought the Eagles might target pass rushers.

Yes, the book is closed on this season, but with the changing of dates on the calendar brings new optimism and new hope. This season’s playoff failure stings a little less because the Eagles finally brought home the Lombardi Trophy a year ago, but it also creates the hunger for another.

Doug Pederson, Howie Roseman and company are, no doubt, at work. There isn’t any Eagles fan who won’t be tuned in for every step of the process.
