Joe Douglas talks a little about NFL scouting, and Malcolm Jenkins shows his generosity yet again on this edition of Philadelphia Eagles roundup.

The Philadelphia Eagles‘ iron man on defense, Malcolm Jenkins, recently took some time out of his Pro Bowl schedule to show that generosity we’ve come to know him for. More on that in a second. Let’s begin this edition of ‘The Roundup’ by checking in with Eagles vice president of player personnel Joe Douglas.

He recently spoke with Fran Duffy after Senior Bowl practices reached their conclusion.

Take a gander for yourself.

Perhaps the worst part of a new calendar year is the realization that we’re running out of football to watch. As exciting as the NFL Playoffs are, we know the routine. We get 11 games over the course of a month are so, and then, we’re waiting for the offseason stuff.

That means we’ll be talking free agency, the NFL Combine, and the draft. To some, the jury is still out on Joe Douglas. There have been huge scores (Dallas Goedert, Rasul Douglas), misses (Donnel Pumphrey), and some guys with overall grades that are yet to be determined (Sidney Jones, Derek Barnett, Dallas Goedert).

Still, you have to say he’s doing a fairly nice job. With that being said, let’s move on to the Philadelphia Eagles’ iron man, safety Malcolm Jenkins. He’s actually one of those things that Chip Kelly actually got right.

Since joining ‘The Birds’ in 2014, Jenkins has been on the field for over 6,300 defensive snaps, including every one of them in 2018. His leadership on the field is unquestioned. He’s one of the team’s captains, but he’s also a leader off of the field. He’s also one of the most kindhearted people you’ll ever meet.

Here’s another example.

How can you even follow that with a comment? Jenkins is truly one of the reasons that’s it’s easy to cheer for the Eagles. On Sunday, he’ll join the likes of fellow Eagles Brandon Brooks, Fletcher Cox and Lane Johnson at the 2019 NFL Pro Bowl. We expect a few Eagles fans will tune in for that one.
