A little light was shone on Philadelphia Eagles safety Tre Sullivan recently, and it came courtesy of Pro Football Focus.

Love them. Hate them. We can’t seem to get over the analytical machine that is Pro Football Focus or get enough of them. They’re truly one of a kind, and as Philadelphia Eagles fans and football fans in general, we gobble up every piece of  statistical data that they come up with. This time they decided to shine a little light on Eagles safety Tre Sullivan.

Sometimes PFF’s rankings lists are fairly easy to figure out. Others couldn’t be figured out if your life depended on it. The only thing we all can agree on is the fact that, in a world where most of us play fantasy football, we love rankings lists, and when you see your favorite players from your favorite teams on top of one, it makes us all smile.

Just this week, PFF ranked the best safeties of the postseason, and when it was all said and done, Mr. Sullivan finished just ahead of New England Patriots safeties Patrick Chung and Devin McCourty.

Take a look.

It appears the Eagles may have found hope for the future in their secondary where, at various points of the season, there seemed to be desperation. They sent starters to the IR. They added guys to the practice squad, promoted others, and waived still others.

They let guys go and brought guys back, and in the end, here we are.

We still aren’t sure if Sidney Jones is the guy, if Ronald Darby will be back or if Jalen Mills is a stud. Rasul Douglas makes you want to cheer and then curse him out, so it was nice to see signs from the likes of Chandon Sullivan and De’Vante Bausby and Cre’Von LeBlanc.

Next. Eagles plan to let Nick Foles walk off into free agency. dark

Don’t forget about Mr. Sullivan either. Sure, he’s young. Sure, he only has 17 total tackles to his name, but come next season, he’ll have a chance to make the Eagles’ roster. He’ll be a little older and a little more experienced and a little wiser.

The Eagles may have found a gold mine here. Time will tell.
