‘Dreams and Nightmares’ by Meek Mill was the Philadelphia Eagles theme music for last year’s Super Bowl. Well, the Patriots might borrow the idea of using Meek Mill as motivation.

Last season was incredible for the Philadelphia Eagles for apparent reasons. They were Super Bowl champions by defeating Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in a shootout. You know the story. But what made the season extra special, was the fact that the Eagles rallied along with the song Dreams and Nightmares’ by Meek Mill as their theme music.

The Philadelphia-born rapper had made the song a few years before the Birds incredible run, but the song was ideally suited for the occasion when the team decided to start playing it before the NFC Championship game. Meek Mill wasn’t around for the Eagles run as he was serving a jail sentence, but when he got out, he made it known how appreciative and happy he was for the Eagles. And on his latest album, he would continue to ride with the Eagles theme by having Eagles colored confetti on the cover art for the project that was titled ‘Championships.’

Since Meek has become somewhat of a face for the Eagles as he was featured in a team hype-up video during the season, other teams have used his music as a trolling opportunity. We all saw how the New Orleans Saints reacted to beating the Eagles in the playoffs a couple of weeks ago. Just moments after winning, they headed to the locker room blasting ‘Dreams and Nightmares’ in an attempt to troll the Eagles. Naturally, Eagles fans were upset. But now they are even more upset with the New England Patriots ahead of Super Bowl LIII.

The Patriots are using Meek as motivation

Like most teams, the Patriots released a hype video a couple of days before their upcoming game. Being that this week is the Super Bowl, the Patriots made this one extra special. But the thing that bothered a lot of people was the fact that the Patriots decided to use Meek Mill as the theme music. Now, many Eagles fans are speculating that the Patriots may take a page out of the Eagles playbook from last season, and come out onto the field with Meek Mill as their entrance music.

Needless to say, Eagles fans are not happy about this. Just so everybody knows though, Meek Mill is good friends with Patriots owner, Robert Kraft. So for those who believe the Patriots are just straight up trolling the Eagles; think again. This isn’t as petty as everybody wants to believe it is, but we’re still getting a kick out of the reactions.
