Here’s a Super Bowl fun fact; Even though the Philadelphia Eagles were not in the Super Bowl, Zach Ertz still has the last receiving touchdown on football’s biggest stage until next season.

That’s all she wrote for the 2018-2019 NFL season. Just like that, the season wraps up and comes to an end. The New England Patriots couldn’t get the job done against the Philadelphia Eagles last year, but they will take home the Vince Lombardi trophy this year as they defeated the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 in Atlanta. And as crazy as it sounds, the Eagles are still the last team to score a touchdown in the passing game during the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately, this year’s Super Bowl did not quite live up to the hype of last years. It seems as though we were all spoiled with a game that contained the most amount of yards between both teams in Super Bowl history, along with a final score of 41-33.

This year, everybody would assume that with two offensive-minded coaches the results would be kind of similar, but that didn’t turn out to be the case. The Rams and Patriots’ defenses came out firing on all cylinders, and both offenses could barely move the ball. And with that, we ended up witnessing the lowest scoring Super Bowl ever.

A Super Bowl fun fact for 2019

This play with Nick Foles throwing for a touchdown to Zach Ertz last year remains as the final touchdown pass to be completed in the Super Bowl until next season. For a while on Sunday night, it realistically seemed like the Eagles were going to end up having the final touchdown scored in the Super Bowl regardless until the Patriots finally drove in six with a rush by their rookie running back, Sony Michel. But still, Nick Foles and Zach Ertz own the last touchdown pass for now.
