Chris Long challenges Sixers’ JJ Redick to a college basketball bet
Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long is getting quite bored in the offseason.
What do NFL players do in their spare time? Do they go on vacation with their family? Or maybe they continue to train for the following season? Even better – perhaps they attempt to make offseason bets on other sports that are currently in season. With the Super Bowl in the past, there are currently only two major sports in America that tons of people are paying attention to for the most part. One being basketball, and the other being hockey.
Right now, Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long has his eyes on college basketball. With March Madness being just a month away, Long has shifted his interest in sports for the time being. But watching it just isn’t enough apparently. Long has money, and now he’s looking for adventurous ways to spend it.
Being that Long’s alma mater, Virginia is playing on Saturday against the highly-ranked Duke Blue Devils, Long is looking to make the game ten times more interesting. Therefore, he took to Twitter to find any suitors that are willing to make a bet with him. But when Long tweeted out what was on his mind, he made a subliminal tweet in search of a specific athlete that also plays in Philly.
Who is Chris Long looking for?
Chris Long wants to put his money on Virginia, but he would like to do it with another Philly athlete who has played for Duke. At first, you would think he’s talking about one of his Eagles teammates, but when he threw out the sarcastic “who may even like basketball” it became quite evident who he was talking about. Long wants to get in touch with former Duke superstar, JJ Redick.
Unfortunately, Redick is not on Twitter to see Long’s request. However, there has to be somebody in Philly that is a mutual friend of Long’s and Redick’s. Imagine Chris Long and JJ Redick watching a Virginia-Duke basketball game with money on the line. Whoever could make that happen and get it all on camera would have some excellent content to put out there for Eagles/Sixers fans. Will Redick take up Long on his offer? We’ll see soon. Redick has until 6 pm EST. Time on Saturday.
