Injuries, contracts and trade rumors are just a few of the reasons the Philadelphia Eagles have to consider using one of their picks in the 2019 NFL Draft on a cornerback.

Currently, on the Philadelphia Eagles‘ active roster, there are five cornerbacks. There names are Josh Hawkins, Cre’Von LeBlanc, Avonte MaddoxSidney Jones, and Rasul Douglas. Philly found Maddox in the NFL Draft a year ago and Jones and Douglas in 2017’s version.

Though Maddox and Douglas have shown their versatility and proven their mettle, they still have some learning to do. Jones is dangerously close to slipping into the category of ‘injury prone’, but there’s no reason to give up on him yet.

Hawkins found himself on three different rosters before winding up on Philly’s practice squad and being promoted to their active roster the day before Christmas. The Eagles kind of lucked into LeBlanc.

Injuries forced him into action, but when he was given his chance, he seized the moment and doesn’t appear to have any plans of looking back.

Jeremiah McKinnon‘s on a future/reserve contract, and two of the Eagles’ starters, Ronald Darby and the once beloved ‘Green Goblin’ Jalen Mills, finished the season on the team’s IR. Darby’s been here for two seasons. He hasn’t played the full slate of games in either one of them, he’s at the end of his current deal, and it’s hard to imagine a scenario where he’s kept around.

Many believe Mills would make some pretty good trade bait. Think it’s time to do some scouting? We think so. Here are 15 prospects Philly will want to add to their draft board. Keep in mind guys like DeAndre BakerByron Murphy, and Greedy Williams will probably be off of the board when Philly’s able to make their selection.
