Along with their six picks for the 2019 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles have been issued two additional picks.

The compensatory pick game was expected to be mighty generous to the Philadelphia Eagles this season. It was initially believed that the team would receive three picks throughout the offseason, according to PhillyVoice’s Jimmy Kempski – but as it turns out, the Eagles have only been issued two compensatory picks for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Now, the Eagles will roll with eight total picks this year so far. And I say so far because we’re not entirely sure how this draft is going to play out. Considering that Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has been quite involved with tons of trading throughout the last two years, the Eagles could end up with more, or less picks before the draft even begins. You never truly know.

So, let’s take a look at the full compensatory pick pool for the NFL.

The Eagles get rewarded with two new picks

With that, the Eagles ended up with an additional fourth-round pick, and a sixth-round pick to add to their total for the NFL Draft. According to NBC Sports’ Dave Zangaro, Eagles wide receiver Mike Wallace was added into the comp pick formula, which is why they ended with two picks, instead of the expected three. Not an ideal scenario, but not a big deal at the same time. Either way, the Eagles have a ton of draft ammo this season, which is needed considering that they have to knock this draft out of the park.

A look at the Eagles draft picks right now:

Round 1: Pick 25

Round 2: Pick 53

Round 2: Pick 57

Round 4: Pick 127

Round 4: Pick 138

Round 5: Pick 163

Round 6: Pick 198

Round 6: Pick 208

Plenty of picks that could make a difference on the team next year. It’s unfortunate that the Eagles will miss out on a third-round pick after trading it away midway through the season to acquire wide receiver, Golden Tate. At least the good news is that the Eagles could get a compensatory pick for that move in 2020. Let’s not rule out the idea of the Eagles re-signing Tate though, either. You never know what can happen with Howie Roseman in charge.
