Here’s some fair warning. Over the next few weeks, there will be plenty of Philadelphia Eagles who may come up in trade rumors. Nelson Agholor, it’s your turn.

On both Friday and Saturday, the Philadelphia Eagles turned heads with the extensions of both Brandon Graham and Jason Kelce. Who knows how they did it. All everyone keeps telling us is they have no money to spend, and they can’t be players in free agency. Actually, we’re told that every year, and every year, they just keep on adding or re-signing talent. That brings us to Nelson Agholor.

Maybe mathematics work differently in the NFL than they do in any other business, but here’s how it’s supposed to work. If you have financial constraints and you spend more money, you should have less money to spend than you did originally.

Don’t tell that to Eagles executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman. He, seemingly, works another way. You acquire the talent. You figure out the details later.

Now that Graham and Kelce have received a three-year and one-year deal respectively, you’d think that it should be more difficult to re-sign the likes of Ronald Darby, Jordan Hicks, and Jay Ajayi.

The Eagles have another year before they have to think about what to do with Nelson Agholor, but seeing as how the final year of his deal isn’t guaranteed, and Philly needs to clear even more cap space now (we think), some of the experts, Jason La Canfora for example, believe Agholor may end up being mentioned in the same sentence as trade bait.

In a recent report, La Canfora can be quoted as saying ‘league sources said the (Minnesota) Vikings are shopping corner Trae Waynes, the (Chicago) Bears are shopping running back Jordan Howard, the (Kansas City) Chiefs are talking trade on Justin Houston and the Eagles are open to moving Nelson Agholor)’.

No one’s heard anything concrete yet, but this may be one to watch for a team that needs to free up some cap space.
