Bryce Harper throws his ‘opening pitch’ at Le’Veon Bell and ‘The Birds’ meet with a Penn State standout on this edition of Philadelphia Eagles Roundup.

It appears Philadelphia Phillies right fielder Bryce Harper is settling in to his new home nicely. The ink is officially dry on his 13-year, $330 million-dollar deal, and that means he won’t have to worry about U-Haul trucks for a while. Recently, we learned that, if things don’t work out at Citizens Bank Park, he may have a career waiting for him with the Philadelphia Eagles over at the Novacare Complex.

It appears he might work out as some sort of scout. Recently, he made a recruiting pitch to Le’Veon Bell.

Take a look at this one:

As nice as all of this is, let’s be honest. Philly needs to clear a lot of cap space, and Bell is seeking a huge payday. After signing both Brandon Graham and Jason Kelce to extensions this week, it doesn’t seem like adding Bell is a real possibility at this point.

With that being said, we move on to the NFL Scouting Combine.

The defensive linemen and linebackers knew they’d be taking the field for drills on Sunday. Teams met with many of them on the day prior, but with so much talent to scout, it’s impossible to meet with everyone. That means actual visits show a certain seriousness about a prospect that we can’t ignore.

Enter Shareef Miller of the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Miller is a product of Philadelphia and a lifelong Eagles fan. Playing for his favorite team would be a the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for this six-foot-five, 259-pound defensive end. The first step came with a visit with Eagles head coach Doug Pederson, defensive line coach Phillip Daniels and defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.

Over the course of his 34-game collegiate career, Miller racked up 100 tackles (31.5 were for a loss), 14.5 sacks, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. Place this potential Eagles prospect on your draft boards. It appears the Eagles may have already done so.
