Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox apparently had a surgical procedure done on his foot recently.

Oh, those Philadelphia Eagles and their injuries. If there were to be a book written about the 2018 season, the theme would be centered around injuries. Hamstrings, knees, ankles, everything, you name it, the Eagles had issues with it. It was all a problem throughout the year. And unfortunately, it doesn’t just stop after the season ends. The Eagles also deal with injury concerns throughout the offseason as well.

Last year, it didn’t matter as much because it was understandable that the Eagles had some injuries. Guys like Alshon Jeffery, Brandon Graham, and Derek Barnett all played through injuries throughout the year. So an offseason surgical procedure was to be expected. That’s just what happens when you play a long season. However, the Eagles have a longer offseason in 2019.

Unfortunately, one of the Eagles’ biggest stars still had to go through with surgery this offseason. Eagles’ defensive tackle Fletcher Cox shocked everybody this offseason as he was spotted in a boot with a scooter. This isn’t precisely news considering that he was already donning the boot at the final locker room cleanout, but nobody really talked about it until now after we found out that Cox underwent surgery not too long ago.

When will Cox be back?

With the picture of Cox using a scooter making waves around the net this past weekend, everybody got worried about Cox’s status. ESPN’s Tim McManus took to social media to clear everything up. Although Cox was using a scooter, he’s already done with it. It will take a little while before Cox returns to the field, but at least he isn’t expected to miss any of the 2019 NFL season.

Cox will, in fact, miss OTAs though. At this point, that isn’t a huge deal. As we know in the past, Cox is not one to show up to OTAs in the spring, which is voluntary. However, the mandatory portion will not have Cox as well. Fortunately, if his recovery is on the right track throughout the offseason, Cox will be good to go for the 2019 training camp. Hopefully, there are no setbacks.
