6 Free Agent wide receivers the Philadelphia Eagles could target
Donte Moncrief
Age: 25
Last Team: Jacksonville Jaguars
Donte Moncrief enters the Free Agency market as one of the top wideouts available. He’s had his moments over the last couple of years, but his young age of 25 is what makes him so valuable. He just wrapped up year five of his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and it’s quite clear that Moncrief needs to end up in a situation with a better quarterback.
Back in Indy, Moncrief had Andrew Luck, but that was at the point of his career when he was continually nursing injuries. In Jacksonville, he played with Blake Bortles, who was eventually benched for Cody Kessler. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Moncrief wasn’t in an ideal situation last year. Still, though, he managed to pump out 668 yards and three touchdowns.
The unfortunate factor for Moncrief is the fact that he may be overvalued right now. If there were a few other big names available, he could come at a steal. With a team like the New York Jets, who have unlimited cap space this year eyeing him up though, Moncrief could see a nice payday. Maybe the Eagles get in on that action for a young wideout with upside. Perhaps not. We’ll see soon enough.
