Tyrell Williams

Age: 27

Last Team: Los Angeles Chargers

Aside from Tyrell Williams’ long 1,000-yard season in 2016, he’s been more on the quiet side of things for the Chargers. Thanks to having Keenan Allen around, defenses shift all of their focus on him and miss the fact that Williams can stretch the field and beat you deep. Last season, Williams averaged 2.6 receptions-per-game. He won’t make catches at a high-volume, but he can be useful for a big play or two, which is precisely what the Eagles need.

Even if the Eagles elect to go younger with one of the guys previously mentioned, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to bring in Williams on a multi-year deal as well. At 27, Williams has plenty of gas left in the tank. During his 2018 season, Williams averaged 15.9 yards-per-reception, which ranks higher than both Agholor and Alshon.

The Eagles desperately lacked big plays last season, and Williams could be the veteran to fill that void. Then, the Eagles won’t have to force a draft pick on a speedy receiver who could potentially be a bust this season. They need speed now, not just later.
