The Philadelphia Eagles used one of their official interviews at the 2019 NFL Combine on cornerback Nasir Adderley out of Delaware. You might want to check out a few highlights.

Three things can be said with certainty. One, the Philadelphia Eagles are showing some real interest in cornerback Nasir adderley out of Delaware. Second, the ‘Fightin’ Blue Hens’ is an awful nickname for a football team. Third, if Adderley is around in the mid-to-late rounds after the Eagles make a few more selections, ‘The Birds’ may have a steal if they take him.

That may not happen though because some NFL scouts are grading him a lot higher.

Remember when we thought Jalen Mills was a second-round talent, but he slipped to Philly in round seven? Well, Addelrley may be one of those talents who gets overlooked.

That isn’t because of any character issues (we later found out Mills’ character concerns were nonsense). It’s mainly because he played for, well, the Fightin’ Blue Hens.

He’s a native of Philly, so you might imagine that his dream was to play for the Eagles at some point. You can trust and believe the Eagles saw a lot of his work with him playing in their backyard though.

Here’s what was said about him in his USA Today Draft Wire profile.

"Adderley has proven to be the best small-school prospect in this year’s draft class. An athletic giant, Adderley provides size, speed and length to any defensive scheme, though will best be suited as a deep safety where he can utilize his range and ball hawking instincts to roam sideline to sideline. Overall, he is well-rounded with the cover instincts, play range and toughness vs. the run to contribute early to a NFL secondary."

Here’s what NFL.com said in their version of his draft profile:

"Defensive back with good size and length, but tape that is filled with inconsistencies over the last couple of years. Adderley’s issues revolve around inconsistencies with recognition and response as a safety, which is why teams might opt to move him back to cornerback where his size, athletic ability and ball skills will be coveted."

Nasir Adderley is the cousin of Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive back Herb Adderley. NFL.com also compares him to Jessie Bates, so it’s safe to say he has the NFL pedigree. Will Philly pull the trigger and bring the hometown kid into the nest? We’ll have to wait and see.
