3 Reasons why the Philadelphia Eagles should trade for Jordan Howard

So the Philadelphia Eagles want to solve the question surrounding their backfield situation? Maybe Jordan Howard from Chicago is the answer.

Raise your hand if you got upset that Le’Veon Bell signed with the New York Jets, and not the Philadelphia Eagles. Didn’t like Bell? Perhaps you had a craving for signing former Atlanta Falcons running back, Tevin Coleman? Seeing a versatile running back that seems to fit the mold of the Eagles backfield sign such a cheap deal out in San Francisco really riled up the fan base.

What are the Eagles possibly going to do now that their seemingly top target Tevin Coleman signed elsewhere? Will they rely on the NFL Draft at this point? Or maybe Howie Roseman will get on the phone and make a deal. Who knows, perhaps he will do both. Either way, the Eagles just cannot head into the 2019 NFL season with a backfield like last year’s.

The head of the committee was Jay Ajayi from the jump. Corey Clement would add the one-two punch, and Darren Sproles would end up sprinkling in a little bit of running up the middle, with a lot of catches out of the backfield. Unfortunately, that’s not what ended up happening. Ajayi got hurt, Clement took a massive step backward before also getting injured, and Sproles missed the entire first half of the season with a nagging hamstring himself.

That left the Eagles running with Wendell Smallwood and undrafted rookie Josh Adams for a while. Credit to those two for contributing what they did, but it’s becoming evident that they aren’t the answer. Howie Roseman and Doug Pederson made it clear that the committee approach isn’t going anywhere. Therefore, we can expect another running back or two coming to town. Here are a few reasons why Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard should be one of them.
