Nelson Agholor had once been on the trade block, but the tables have turned. His salary for the 2019 season is now guaranteed.

As of four p.m. on Wednesday, Philadelphia Eagles’ wide receiver Nelson Agholor remained on the Eagles’ roster. Which guarantees his salary of 9.4 million dollars.

Eagles reporter, Jeff McLane, reported on Agholor’s salary on Wednesday afternoon.

McLane’s report.

This week must have been a roller coaster for Agholor, as rumors of his possible departure from Philadelphia, began to heat up. The recent acquisition of receiver DeSean Jackson only intensified those rumors.

Jackson will serve as an outside receiver, as will Alshon Jeffery. That will most likely push Agholor to the slot position.

Agholor has served that role in the past. This past season, he started on the outside. However, when Jeffery returned from injury, Agholor found himself in the slot.

While Agholor did not have as much productivity in that role as he did when playing on the outside, he still contributed to the Birds’ success.

Playing in the slot position, he recorded 21 receptions on 30 targets. However, he posted zero touchdowns.

In the 2018 season overall, he was 64 for 736 and had four touchdowns. His reception and yardage total was similar to the 2017 season. The biggest difference was the touchdown total. In 2017, Agholor finished with eight touchdowns.

His role has definitely been reduced, but can you blame the Eagles? Their receiving core consisted of Jeffery, Zach Ertz, Golden Tate, and Dallas Goedert. Now, throw Jackson into the mix. The good news for Agholor is that Tate will most likely find a new team. Which means Agholor could see more time on the field. But again, the Birds still have two tight ends who can play like receivers. So, Agholor’s role is really up in the air. Only time will tell how he will be utilized on the field.
