Quietly, a draft board is being pieced together by the Philadelphia Eagles. Here’s another prospect, cornerback Rock Ya-Sin of the Temple Owls.

Cornerback Rock Ya-Sin‘s name is among the most popular floating around NFL circles these days. He’s among some of the most highly touted prospects at his position as we approach April’s selection meeting in Nashville, Tennessee. What does that have to do with the Philadelphia Eagles you ask? Well, ‘The Birds’ seem to have taken a pretty keen interest in him.

In his most recent mock draft, ESPN’s Todd McShay has ‘The Birds’ taking Ya-Sin with the 25th pick. Philly’s, no doubt, familiar with him as was able to transfer to the Temple Owls after his first stop at the collegiate level, Presbyterian, decided to move down from FCS to Division II football.

NFL.com compares him to Nate Hairston in their draft profile. Here’s a little more about what they had to say:

"Body-beautiful cornerback with good size and potential, but just one year of FBS football experience. Ya-Sin needs technique work across the board, but the ability to handle the duties of the position are all in place and waiting to be unlocked. He has the strength, toughness and feet to go from shadowing presence to a more disruptive one as a press-man corner. His lack of technique allows for some pitch-and-catch moments in coverage, but he has moldable traits to become a future starter with more experience and coaching."

Here, at ITI, we told you to put Rock Ya-Sin on your draft boards a little over a month ago in our feature story on 15 cornerbacks the Eagles should consider scouting. We figure there’s a lot more interest building as the Eagles, themselves, dropped a full-blown scouting clip on the six-foot, 192-pound standout.
