The draft is approaching, and the Philadelphia Eagles are hosting pre-draft visits. Let’s take a look at two prospects, Tytus Howard and Cody Ford.

It may seem quiet, but it isn’t. The Philadelphia Eagles are all about business these days. The 2019 NFL Draft is scheduled to be in Nashville in a little over a month, and ‘The Birds’ have already hosted quite a few prospects on pre-draft visits.

One of the focal points of their efforts seems to be on adding depth to the offensive line. Hey, you can’t win in this league if you aren’t good in the trenches, right? Enter tackles Tytus Howard and Cody Ford.

Let’s begin with Howard. He’s a six-foot-five, 322-pound tackle out of Alabama State, and the Eagles hosted him on a top-30, pre-draft visit on Monday. Here’s the report from the multi-faceted Andrew DiCecco. He writes for Eagles Wire on USA Today and Bleacher Report:

NFL.com compares him to Desmond Harrison. Here’s more of what they said in their scouting report:

"Ascending tackle prospect who will require additional work with technique and in the weight room to fully realize his potential. Howard is a gifted athlete with rare quickness and fluidity as both a run and pass blocker and his play issues are correctable with more work. While he will be dinged for level of competition, his upside was on full display with his play against Auburn. He needs development, but he’s much more than a developmental prospect and could find a starter’s spot within his first two years."

With that, we move along to Cody Ford. He’s a six-foot-four, 329-pound tackle who just helped the Oklahoma Sooners win the Big 12 title and get to the College Football Playoff. During the most recent NFL Combine, he ran the 40-yard dash in 5.2 seconds, posted a 28.5-inch vertical, and notched 19 reps in the bench press.

NFL.com sees him as an instant starter at the professional level and compares him to current Eagles guard Brandon Brooks. No one doubts the fact that Philly would take another Brooks if they could. Here’s more:

"(Ford) started at left guard for the first three games of 2016 but broke his leg against Ohio State and sat out the rest of the season. He played in 12 games as a sophomore, starting four games at left guard when regular Ben Powers was out. Ford was moved from guard to right tackle for the 2018 season to replace Bobby Evans, who moved to left tackle after the departure of Orlando Brown to the NFL. He lost 15 pounds to become more mobile in the new position, which paid off handsomely in 14 starts, a first-team All-Big 12 nod, and a third-team Associated Press All-American honor."

Sounds pretty interesting if you ask us. April 25th will be here before you know it. These two guys are officially on the draft board. Might either be one of the newest Eagles? Only time will tell.
