Even Eagles’ Head Coach Doug Pederson suffered an injury this year
Even Philadelphia Eagles head coach, Doug Pederson suffered an injury this year.
Are the Philadelphia Eagles the most damaged team in the NFL? Last season, you could almost put together an entire starting lineup on both sides of the ball with their injured players. The year before that? The same case. And to this day, it’s still amazing to see what they have accomplished over the last two years with the number of injuries that they suffered. Four playoff wins, and one ring on a damaged roster. Just flat out incredible.
Hopefully, the magic of the Eagles repair jobs won’t have to be in play for next year though. As much as we like seeing this team succeed with all of the odds stacked against them, it would be equally as cool to see the Eagles actually remain healthy and take over the NFL. The Eagles are undoubtedly one of the most all-around talented teams in the league, but they have yet to show everybody that since they are injured continuously everywhere.
Unfortunately, some of the bad luck regarding injuries has carried over into the new year already. No, Carson Wentz hasn’t suffered any setbacks on his back injury. Starting right guard, Brandon Brooks is still making a solid recovery. It’s not one of the players. Surprisingly, it’s Eagles’ head coach, Doug Pederson. After having some issues with his foot, Doug Pederson underwent surgery this offseason and is now jokingly being mentioned as injured by a national reporter.
Doug Pederson gets issued a timetable
According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Doug Pederson had a nagging ailment in his foot and had to get it surgically repaired. So like a handful of his players, Pederson could be spotted in a walking boot as the coaches will all meet in Arizona for the NFL Annual Meeting this offseason. The good news is that Pederson will obviously be okay. He won’t need a good foot to coach.
The bad news is that it seems the Eagles injury bug has not passed just yet. Hopefully, now that it got to the head coach of the Eagles, that means we are through with seeing a ridiculous amount of injuries. Also, a side note here, since Doug Pederson is rumored to be alright with the Celebrity Golf Championship, we would prefer if he didn’t make any bets this year on the golf course. Last season, he might’ve beaten Sean Payton on the green, but Payton got a two-game revenge in 2018. Just keep the bet ideas to yourself this time around, Doug. It was bad luck.
