Did you hear about the time Nick Foles met the ‘Black Mamba’, Kobe Bryant? This one may put a much-needed smile on the faces of Philadelphia Eagles fans.

The humility of Nick Foles is one of the reasons Philadelphia Eagles fans grew to love him in the first place. At first glance, it may appear that it might be a tad bit rehearsed. Then, you look at what his teammates and coaches say about him, and you hear stories like the one we heard last week. That’s when it becomes extremely obvious.

Nothing could be further than the truth. It’s hard not to like this guy.

Here’s a little something to make you smile.

The story almost sounds like a joke you tell a good friend. So Kobe Bryant is hanging out, right? NIck Foles walks up, sees the ‘Black Mamba’ and walks up. Foles says ‘Hey Kobe. It’s good to see you. I’m Nick Foles’. The Mamba responds by saying ‘Fool. I know who you are’.

That may not seem like much on the surface, but the fact that Foles would even believe that he would even need to introduce himself is evidence of exactly what we’re talking about. ‘Saint Nick’ is almost humble to a fault. As stated earlier, that’s exactly why we love him though.

Bryant was born in the ‘City of Brotherly Love’. No matter where life has taken him, Germany or the great city of Los Angeles, he’s always talked about his roots in Philadelphia. He’s an Eagles fan through and through. He even got to give them a pep talk prior to Super Bowl 52 (maybe Foles thought Bryant didn’t know his name then either).

Next. Remember the time ‘Gronk’ almost wrecked the Eagles night?. dark

We compare players to Michael Jordan all of the time. Bryant might have been the closest thing to Jordan. He casts a large shadow, one that will turn great athletes in their own right into fans, but come on Nick. Do you really think you have to introduce yourself to anyone, especially an Eagles fan?

We’re being silly here obviously, but this one put a smile on our faces. Hopefully, it did the same for you.
