Philadelphia Eagles: 3 Thoughts on the Jordan Howard Trade
The Philadelphia Eagles have sent a 2020 sixth-round pick to the Chicago Bears for veteran running back, Jordan Howard.
Howie Roseman does it again, folks. How could you ever doubt the man? We should know by now that just because the Philadelphia Eagles have been quiet for the last few weeks, doesn’t mean they haven’t been working. All it took was a little patience, and just like that, the Eagles backfield goes from looking like a significant problem to looking much more problematic for defenses.
We all knew the Eagles weren’t staying put with the running back position. Although Josh Adams, Corey Clement, and even Wendell Smallwood have shown some flashes over time, it’s quite clear that their production was not cutting it. Without even a remotely productive backfield in 2018, the Eagles’ offense saw a massive drop off in moving the ball and scoring.
This offseason, Howie Roseman and the front office needed to figure out a fix, and so far they are on the right track. We were under the assumption that the repair would come through the NFL Draft, but Howie couldn’t wait. So he got on the phone and managed to send a 2020 sixth-round pick to the Chicago Bears in exchange for fourth-year veteran running back, Jordan Howard. Here are three thoughts on the stellar move by Roseman and the Eagles’ front office.
