The Philadelphia Eagles will have a new teammate this spring as Jordan Howard joins the flock in 2019.

Having Howie Roseman wheeling and dealing in the front office is a good luxury for Philadelphia Eagles players. At this point, nobody within that locker room at the Nova Care Complex can doubt this man. Whatever they need on the team, they will eventually get.

It doesn’t matter whether it takes a signing or a trade; Howie will make it happen one way or another. On Thursday night, he did it once again as he sent a 2020 sixth-round pick to the Chicago Bears in exchange for the 24-year-old running back, Jordan Howard.

Many are skeptical about Howard’s regression from his first two seasons to his third, and it makes sense to be a bit worried. However, it seems as though Bears’ head coach Matt Nagy didn’t seem to trust Howard in his system. Therefore, they rolled with a heavy dose of Tarik Cohen last season. Meanwhile, the Eagles were struggling with the run big time in 2018.

In a way, I’m actually shocked that this deal wasn’t done before the trade deadline midway through last year. But patience is a virtue, and the Eagles truly got better for cheap with this move. Well done. Now, the Eagles can feel comfortable heading into the 2019 NFL Draft with a proven talent in the backfield.

Although it is believed that the Eagles might draft a running back still, at least we know they have a solid insurance policy with Howard just in case that selection doesn’t pan out the way the would like him to. Regardless of what happens after today though, it seems as though the Eagles players are excited with the recent move. Let’s check out some of the teams’ reactions following the news.
