Jordan Howard knew for a while he was going to Philly

On Thursday, the news came out that the Eagles officially sent a future sixth-rounder to the Bears for Howard. While that was the first time the trade became official, the deal has been pretty much in place for the last month or so, according to Howard. As he discussed his not-so-sudden move to Philly, Howard let us all in on a little secret. He said that not only did he know he was getting traded for a while now. But he knew that he was specifically going to the Eagles.

Ever since the trade deadline in 2018, Howard was rumored to be on Chicago’s trade block. Seeing that the Eagles were in the market for a running back, it was shocking that they didn’t make this trade happen sooner. It seems as though patience would pay off though, as there is a good chance the Eagles got Howard at a discounted price since it wasn’t a desperate trade that they made.

Chicago ended up holding onto Howard for the rest of 2018, but once the league new year opened up, he was back on the block. There were whispers around the league that Howard was in play for Philly, but it all seemed like nothing more than just a rumor. Apparently, that wasn’t the case. This deal has been all but final for pretty much a month now, and Howard has been eyeing up Philly for a while. He even proved that by making it known he was paying attention to who was going to wear No. 24 before he got there. Fortunately, nobody scooped it up. Howard will wear No. 24.
