As the offseason continues, Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive end Chris Long will take up a hobby of writing for Sports Illustrated.

What do NFL players do in their spare time when the offseason rolls around? Do they continue to work out? Maybe spend time with their families? Or perhaps, they find another gig. For Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive end Chris Long, he has found himself another hobby that will not only keep him occupied in his time off from football, but it will also expand his talents.

This year, premium channel network HBO will air the final season of their critically acclaimed show, ‘Game of Thrones.’  The show aired for the first time back in April of 2011 and had a mightily successful run. Unfortunately for its fans, it’s nearing the end. Unlike many shows, ‘GOT’ is going to go out on its own watch. Now that they are officially in season eight, the crew involved decided that now is the time to film and air a final season.

Being that the shows final season is such a big deal, many people are talking about it. Therefore, more media platforms are looking for unique ways to cover the show. And Sports Illustrated might’ve come up with a Philadelphia Eagles’ fans favorite way to read about what happened after each specific episode. Check this news out.

Chris Long has a side job?

Sports Illustrated’s Jimmy Traina announced the big news on Thursday night via Twitter. Chris Long will put on his writer’s hat and put together ‘Game of Thrones’ recaps after each episode for the final season. If you’ve followed Long on Twitter, you probably know that he can be an effortlessly humorous guy. While ‘Thrones’ is a show that’s more on the serious side of things, we can’t image Chris Long putting together a writing piece without cracking a joke or two.
