Round 2, Pick 57

Texas’ Charles Omenihu is listed as an interior defensive lineman. However, he could very well find himself becoming a productive defensive end as well. The Eagles like players that are versatile in certain positions. Although they haven’t had too many hybrid defensive linemen, Omenihu could be one of the first ones they draft and develop.

The Eagles need depth at defensive tackle. Malik Jackson will be the starter for the next couple of years, but behind him, there isn’t much depth. Both, Timmy Jernigan and Haloti Ngata are out of the picture, so it could be a good time for the Eagles to draft a young guy who could take on occasional snaps while Jackson gets some rest.

Once again, the Eagles are set on defense when it comes to the trenches for the 2019 season, but beyond that is a question mark. Chris Long and Vinny Curry are approaching contract years, and beyond Derek Barnett and Brandon Graham is nothing but question marks. Omenihu could play defensive tackle in year one; then he could perhaps make a switch to the edge in year two.
