Linebacker, L.J. Fort

Let’s say the Eagles carry six linebackers into the regular season, a very real possibility. That means we can probably place the guys who have already been here at the top of the depth chart. That means we’re discussing Nigel Bradham, Nathan Gerry, Kamu Grugier-Hill, and Paul Worrilow.

Then, throw in the fact that undrafted free agent T.J. Edwards has some scratching their heads about how this guy wasn’t selected in the selection meeting’s seven rounds.

That means Joey AlfieriB.J. BelloAlex Singleton, and Fort are the second-tier. Fort, the journeyman, should, with his experience, be the favorite to beat those guys out.

Here’s a fun fact in the meantime. His first career interception was against the Philadelphia Eagles, and in that game, he picked off Michael Vick.

Cornerback, Jay Liggins

The following is a true story. An NFL scout once sent Liggins a playbook early so that he could familiarize himself with what they wanted to do on defense. Read more about that and our take on him here.

If there are any surprises or injuries, his life could change in a hurry. You’ve watched this team over the past two seasons, right? If so, you’re well aware how quickly injuries can come.

Safety, Deiondre’ Hall

Philly liked Hall so much that they traded a 2019 seventh-round draft pick for his services. Hall is good enough to play his way into a position, but he’s also probably the next man up after Andrew Sendejo, Malcolm Jenkins, Tre Sullivan and Rodney McLeod.

Might he convince his coaches he deserves to be in their top four?
