There’s still some time before the preseason kicks off, but Miles Sanders and JJ Arcega-Whiteside got to rock their midnight green early.

Just last month, the Philadelphia Eagles acquired five new rookies through the NFL Draft. Although they signed a ton of other prospects as well, it’s almost a guarantee that most of, if not, all of the five rookies who they called on one of the three draft days will make the final cuts. This year though, there’s a lot to be excited about since two of their first three picks happen to be offensive weapons for Carson Wentz for years to come.

With the 53rd pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Eagles called up Penn State running back, Miles Sanders. Then, a few picks after that, they shockingly brought on another wide receiver in Stanford’s JJ Arcega-Whiteside. It’s not every year the Eagles grab two offensive weapons in the earlier rounds, so this draft was something to really get excited about in Philadelphia.

Since the Eagles grabbed two guys early on that play specific positions such as wideout and running back, they had two representatives in the NFLPA Rookie Premiere Class! Last year, Dallas Goedert was the lone wolf for the Birds. This year, Sanders and Whiteside got to attend as a Philadelphia duo. The best part about it? They got to rock their uniforms for the first time.

As we already knew, Sanders was going to rock No. 26 heading into his rookie season. Sometimes, rookie players pick temporary numbers then eventually change them later on down the line, but he seems married to the number. So yes, it is safe to grab a Miles Sanders jersey as he has made it pretty clear that he’s more than content with his selection. As for Arcega-Whiteside, he’s going to wear No. 19. The Eagles haven’t had a great track record with wideouts wearing No. 19 (Miles Austin, anyone?) but hopefully, the Stanford alumn can do much better with it.

Next. A letter to Chris Long. dark
