Eagles rookie Miles Sanders’ injury is ‘not considered serious’
Philadelphia Eagles second-rounder Miles Sanders has been sitting out with an injury, but it is not too severe.
Over the last week or so, the Philadelphia Eagles haven’t gotten much out of one of their rookies. Second-round selection Miles Sanders has been sidelined as of late due to some mysterious injury that Doug Pederson and the rest of the coaching staff would keep quiet about. Knowing that it is only OTAs in the month of May, there aren’t too many expectations for players anyway.
However, when it comes to the Philadelphia Eagles and injuries, there’s always going to be a little of doubt when the reports come out. After a season that was dreadful at one point due to injuries, it’s no secret that this Eagles team hasn’t been all that healthy. And at this point, there are multiple guys still recovering from injuries that occurred last year. Now, some of their newer guys are dealing with some paint — but at the very least, nothing has been too serious.
Sanders could be back on the field soon
Former Penn State running back Miles Sanders was healthy a few weeks ago when the Eagles brought their rookie’s and hopefuls to the Nova Care Complex for a short camp. While Sanders practiced then, it seemed he had some complications as he has yet to get a practice in at OTAs with the rest of the gang. Last week, veterans and rookies started practicing together. Sanders was present, but he wasn’t getting any work in.
Come to find out, Sanders is dealing with a strained hamstring. According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, his injury is not considered to be serious, which is excellent news for the Eagles. Although Schefter mentioned that Sanders could return as early as Tuesday, the Eagles are most likely going to take it easy with him. After all, they didn’t have the best results with playing guys who had injured hamstrings last season. This time around, they will take it easy.
