Philadelphia Eagles players react to Carson Wentz’s extension
The Philadelphia Eagles have extended Carson Wentz, and his teammates seemed to be thrilled about the big move.
Finally, after months of speculation, the Philadelphia Eagles have made it official with quarterback, Carson Wentz. It’s now written in ink that Carson Wentz will be the Eagles’ franchise quarterback for years to come. For the next six seasons, the Eagles are guaranteed to have No. 11 on board. Now, the Eagles just have to hope that Wentz remains healthy in the long run.
Surrounding Wentz with protection and weapons has been the key of the 2019 offseason. The Eagles’ front office upgraded the backfield, which was visibly their weakest offensive position last season. They went out and got a veteran speedster in DeSean Jackson, which they lacked over the last few years. And they even got some young pass protectors to fill in case some of the older guys get injured or call it quits.
All in all, the Eagles have prepared for this move over the last few months, and extending Wentz was just the final piece to the puzzle of solidifying the future of this potential juggernaut of an offense. Since the NFL is full of risks, the Eagles knew they were taking one with this deal.
However, in a way, the Eagles did in fact get a bargain with Wentz’s new deal and the decision to make it official now is a solid one.
