Out of all of the first picks in the last decade, which Philadelphia Eagles selection ranks as the best?

Up until the last few years, the Philadelphia Eagles haven’t had much success. During the Super Bowl era, they struggled to remain relevant up until the early 2000s. During that time, it seemed inevitable that the Eagles would at least garner their first Super Bowl ring with Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid running the show, but the dynamic duo failed to take it all the way.

Many years of making it as far as the NFC Championship and falling short of the ultimate prize eventually led to a dark stage for the franchise. While the Eagles got some excellent service out of Mike Vick following the McNabb era, they still couldn’t accomplish the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl. So they fired Reid and hired a first-timer in Chip Kelly.

While Chip had an impressive year one with the Eagles, his ‘innovative’ offense was quickly figured out by opposing defense’s, and he would find himself fired by year three. In came Doug Pederson and Howie Roseman once again for the new regime. Nobody knew what to expect out of these two as they were in charge of everything, but their plans ended up working out.

And now that the Eagles are more successful than they’ve ever been in this era let’s piggyback off of a recent article, which analyzed the best first picks of the decade for each NFL team. The Touchdown Wire’s Barry Werner considers Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz to be their best first pick of the decade. Would you agree?
