30. San Francisco 49ers: Malik Jackson, DT

Malik Jackson is one of the newest faces in the Eagles locker room this year. The Eagles acquired Jackson through free agency by way of a three-year deal. After the Eagles struggled with injuries to their interior defensive linemen in 2018, they didn’t really have a choice but to make a big splash at the position through free agency.

Fletcher Cox might be the headlining defensive tackle, and he handles a lot of the pressure he brings well. However, it is in the Eagles best interest to get another solid tackle to relieve some of that pressure off of their key guy so the rest of the line can wreak havoc one way or another. That’s where Jackson came into play.

In 2012, Jackson wasn’t viewed as a star. He was a fifth-round pick, selected to the Denver Broncos. He did have a stellar career, as he was a Super Bowl champion in Denver. Jackson earned a big contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he wasn’t as successful overall, but still contributed big time to one of their teams’ best units. Now, he will have the opportunity to continue his career in Philly alongside another 2012 draft pick.
