There are three things standing between the Philadelphia Eagles and a Super Bowl appearance. Read on to find out what the Eagles must do in 2019.

July. It’s the month we celebrate our nation’s independence and the start of training camp. In days of old, this would be the time die hards would call into sports radio stations claiming, “this is the year the Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl!” This rally cry brought with it a “yeah, okay pal” attitude from a fan base known as much for its experiences with heartbreak as its tendency to ‘boo’.

In 2019, Eagles fans have a legitimate reason to get excited about the thought of a second title in three years. The success (or failure) of this team ultimately hinges on these three key areas .

1. The Health of Carson Wentz

By now the ink has dried. Four years and $128 million later, Carson Wentz will be donning midnight green for the foreseeable future. While the extension was a must, many are left wondering where Wentz’s long term health stands coming off of two serious injuries. an ACL and MCL tear and a back injury. As is the case with most every NFL franchise, the Eagles will go as far as their quarterback can take them in 2019.

If he’s one-hundred percent, you have, arguably a top-five signal caller with an arsenal of weapons that would make the Terminator’s head spin. Anything else, there may be cause for concern. With Nick Foles now in Jacksonville, the Eagles’ contingency plan lies in the continued development of Nate Sudfeld, who, to be fair, threw a touchdown on every completed pass in 2018.

Navigating a 16 game season with Carson Wentz at full health needs to be the Eagles’ primary focus in 2019. It appears he’s ready.
